Workshop D2: Wikipedia Edit-A-Thon
Instructor: Mary Mark Ockerbloom
Time: 2:00pm — 3:45pm
Description: THATCamp attendees and Wikipedians will have an opportunity to work on Wikipedia pages of interest to them. Activities may include editing pages, creating new pages, and adding images and metadata.
Coaching will be provided. Bring your laptop (not a tablet), notes or images that you want to add to an existing Wikipedia article, or a first draft for a new Wikipedia article. If adding information, you’ll need citations for your sources. If adding images, please bring information about their provenance (who took them, where, when, of
what) so that we can confirm their copyright status. We will also provide a list of articles that need work, for those who want to practise their editing skills. Help to write Wikipedia history!
Note: Workshop D2 is a continuation of Workshop D1, but it is not necessary to attend both sessions — each can stand alone.
Technical Requirements: Laptop for hands-on Wikipedia editing. A laptop, not a tablet.
